Community Colleges Futures Assembly - A Look Back

2024

Welcome to the 2024 Community College Futures Assembly! On this 30th anniversary of the Futures Assembly, we celebrate our founder, Dr. Dale F. Campbell, who established a national award competition to recognize the value and importance of promoting replicable and scalable community college innovations that produce measurable successes. In 2009, Dale established the Bellwether College Consortium to ensure these award-winning colleges could share ideas and replicate proven practices and programs. This year marks our largest assembly, with 30 community colleges vying for the Bellwether Awards and eight community colleges competing for the Legacy Award. We salute the Bellwether and Legacy finalists for their tremendous and tireless efforts to address critical issues and look forward to learning more about their evidence-based innovations.

2022

Welcome to the 2022 Community College Futures Assembly! As much as 2020 proved challenging, our past year was equally difficult. Still, many of our community colleges made it their mission to build better opportunities for personal care and professional growth for their staff and students. Our Assembly's theme, Breakthroughs and Bold Moves: Celebrating our Tenacity and Resourcefulness, honors these indelible moments.

2021

Welcome to the 2021 Virtual Bellwether College Consortium Policy

Summit and Community College Futures Assembly! As we ring in a new year and transition to life under a new presidential administration, we reflect on the challenges both personal and professional that 2020 dealt us. We re-envisioned teaching and learning, provided record numbers of students with food pantry items, hotspots, laptops, and emergency aid all while spearheading the transition of roughly 5.4 million community college students to remote education.

2020

Welcome to the 2020 Bellwether College Consortium (BCC) Policy Summit and Community College Futures Assembly. In this 26th year of serving as an independent policy think tank, we come together to share important trends, to serve as a conduit for conducting vital research, and to hear from business and industry partners who play a significant role in increasing the value and applicability of a community college credential. Both the summit and the assembly feature respected leaders in our community college family. These individuals personify the conference’s theme – Embracing an Entrepreneurial Spirit: Taking Risks and Achieving Success.
